Nostril or septum?
The nostril is the classic, elegant option on the nose wing; it heals in 2-4 months. The septum is applied to the soft tissue between the nostrils and can be hidden by flipping the jewellery; it heals in 6-8 weeks. The correct anatomical point matters.
How to care for a nose piercing?
Saline cleaning during healing and not touching the jewellery unnecessarily are essential. We provide detailed aftercare instructions in writing.

Septum's little-known advantage: Since it passes through soft tissue, it heals much faster than nostril — 6-8 weeks. Most people assume the opposite.

What Is the Septum "Sweet Spot," and Does Everyone Have One?
Septum piercing doesn't go through cartilage — it passes through the thin band of soft tissue just below the cartilage. This is called the "sweet spot."
Everyone has this area, but its width varies from person to person. When it's narrow:
The piercing ends up too close to the cartilage → healing takes longer, pain increases
The jewellery sits asymmetrically
An experienced piercer can locate this band by hand. A septum piercing that doesn't go through the sweet spot hasn't been done correctly. We check for this during the assessment; if it isn't suitable, we suggest an alternative.
Nose Piercings and Daily Life
The nose is the most frequently handled part of the face — so a few habits change during healing:
Masks and glasses. If you wear a mask, there will be friction in the first weeks; masks with ear loops put less pressure on the bridge of the nose.
Makeup and skincare. Foundation, sunscreen and exfoliating products should be kept away from the piercing area for the first 4-6 weeks.
Colds. Getting a piercing during a period when you need to blow your nose often makes healing harder. If you know your allergy season, time it accordingly.
Sleep. The first weeks can be difficult for stomach sleepers; trying to sleep on your back noticeably speeds up healing.
